Project Background
The client, based in Nigeria, is dedicated to maximizing the potential of hydrocarbon reservoirs and providing comprehensive solutions that optimize exploration and production activities. Operating in offshore environments where the presence of hydrocarbon gases poses significant risks, the client required a Blast Resistant Module (BRM) to ensure the safety of personnel and compliance with stringent HSE regulations. The unit was primarily intended to serve as an office space for data acquisition engineers, enabling them to work efficiently in a hazardous area without compromising safety.

Solution Provided
MAG Industry engineered and delivered a 20ft Zone 2 certified Blast Resistant Module tailored to the client's operational requirements. The solution incorporated several advanced safety and functionality features:
- Pressurized protection: The cabin was designed with a positive pressure system to prevent external hydrocarbon gases from infiltrating the workspace.
- Dual airlock escape doors: Two sequentially installed doors ensured stable internal pressure during personnel entry and exit, enhancing overall safety.
- Optimized internal layout: The cabin was configured as an office space equipped with air conditioning, sealed penetrations for fiber optic cables, compressed air inlet connections, and sealed observation windows for external monitoring.
- Explosion-proof systems: All electrical installations complied with international standards, certified under ATEX and IECEx, guaranteeing reliability in hazardous environments.
Implementation & Delivery
The BRM was completed within a production timeline of approximately 14 weeks. Despite the complexity of offshore project logistics, the module was successfully shipped via sea freight and delivered to the client's offshore site on schedule. The robust design and efficient project execution ensured smooth installation and commissioning.

Results & Client Benefits
The deployment of the BRM provided the client with a safe, compliant, and fully functional workspace in a Zone 2 offshore environment. The solution not only safeguarded the lives of engineers working in hazardous conditions but also enhanced operational continuity by allowing critical data acquisition tasks to proceed without interruption.
The client highly valued the customized design, international certifications, and timely delivery, recognizing MAG Industry as a reliable partner in delivering high-performance safety-critical infrastructure for offshore operations.
